Thats a typical Air- or CO2-Pressuresystem. A fixed part of the weapon and a moveable part which ist powered by pressure. Mithrill has that in other direction, most robots have a fixed part down on the robot and the moveable part on top.
A pressuresystem were easier to made, but then i need a tank for pressure. And we all know what happens in most cases. Some uneffective bites with the weapon and when the time is right to bite powerful in a robots chassis...ppppffffpfpfffiiiuuuuu....low pressure. To prevent all fails, you need an onboard-compressor, or a really big tank, or two.
Thats the reason why i dont want a pressuresystem.
Maybe an hydraulic system...i thinked about that...but with no result. Because i dont have build anything with any prssuresystem.
Ok i could try to collect more information about hydraulic systems on robots. The positive on hydraulics, they have a tank with a fixed Volume of Hydraulic-Oil and they dont loose anything. The Tank is full. Whatever you do with the system.
I think theres a possbility in use two-way valves? I think so. Hydraulicpump only have to produce pressure and the valve will do the rest. That needs only a electrical impulse to activate the valve in one or the other direction.
I will ask some people at work for things like that. Maybe they can give me some ideas and a scheme for that.
