Team Yeti is on site at Battlebots 2019! It's been an eventful start with some last-minute internal design modifications. Yeti's frame has been re-designed from scratch this year with increased weight and strength. One of the key changes was to move the lifter motor up above the drum motors, driving a transfer axle which in turn drives the arms independently. Unfortunately as we found out in the test box, the various parts in play all had enough flexibility that under the extreme pressure of trying to self-right when the robot is upside down, the lifter motor and transfer axles would move toward one another and allow the chain to slip - Yeti was stuck on it's back like a turtle!
With little weight to spare, we had to come up with a fast and simple solution. Thankfully, Tormach Inc. was on-site with their CNC machines ready to assist. We drew up a "Dog Bone" device to span between the two axles with pressed-in bearings, and it did just the trick! Yeti is back to it's old break dancing habits and ready to take on all comers!
We are thrilled to be part of another year of Battlebots, but it is not a trivial thing to get here. The time, energy, stress, and credit card bills can be overwhelming, and it is no exaggeration to say that we absolutely would not be here without our sponsors TriJet Manufacturing & Precision Cutting, P1 Hobbies - Ukiah's RC Hobby Shop, and eTrac Inc. From all of our team, thank you for your incredible support.
Cheers,
Finally passed inspections, bot spins up faster than before. Pictures were taken! Now to prepare for our first match!

Filming has finished up at BattleBots for the 2019 season, and we are happy to share with you the completed version of Deep Six. Weighing in at 250 pounds with around 100lbs of spinning mass, we are really looking to make a mark in our debut season. Follow us/like us for more updates as the show begins airing on Discovery this summer. #deepsixbattlebot
100lbs of spinning mass = 45Kg mal schauen ob das was taugt...

That’s a wrap. Huge thanks to our amazing support teams from Lincoln Electric, Tormach Inc., Markforged and McMaster-Carr. These folk make up the life support team of General Botspital!
Deep Six!
One of our upgrades for Season 4: Modular electronics pods. Each orange box packages a receiver, 2 BECs in parallel, a power switch, an antenna holder and a highly modified ESC. All surrounded by high temperature silicone foam, and mounted to the chassis using rubber shock mounts.
Thank you Protolabs for the sheet metal and 3D printed parts. http://www.protolabs.com/?fbclid=IwAR2P…rpNcZzZTU6BxRD4
