Just thought that you would like to see this ->

Now we have about four or five 6kg robots coming to next event (6.5) and three of ´em are spinners. Dammit.. :DD
Luckily I haven´t yet fully designed neither built my 6kg robot, so I can add lots of armour..
Edit: bad link fixed..
We know this one already, its Hyperion, a formerly dutch Raptor. Now we also know that some Finnish lucky boi or girl spend a nice amount of money to buy it... Enjoy the machine, its performance promises a lot... :jeah:
Hehe, sorry if my post was confusing, but I didn´t bought Hyperion myself.. Its new owner is Robosota`s arranger whom has built some state-of-the-art ants. I´m myself just terrified about Hyperion and students like me doesn´t have such a money to buy cool robots..
Going to build myself some kinda polycarb and aluminium wedgebot with strong armour, so I can wedge and flip some spinners. Going to use 600-size drill motors with some cheop-o (but very good) 3" Colson Performa´s and `Red-Wind`-speedos in drive system. For weapon I will propably use also drill motor or Mini-Ev.. Only month time to design and build whole bot.. Will post pics ´til I get something done.
Ok, new 6kg robot is starting to get it´s shape. Some pictures can be found here:

Still much to be done and event is two weeks away.. Also 450g robot should be ready then:

Picture is bit old - the aluminium armour in front is bent backward to make a small wedge. Still have to make new blade, attach new weapon motor and make wheel guards.. I was going to run weapon @ 13 krpm, but it´s bit unbalanced so driving is helluva difficult. Maybe I have to use older weapon motor (Speed 400) and run weapon "only" at 8400 rpms..
And by the way, in our next event (Model Expo ´06) all big spinners are banned. At first Model Expos organizers gave only 16 m^2 space for Robosota, but with some negotions we got more space. Still there is very little space and we don´t have plexis, so all the dangerous 6kg flippers, spinners and 12 and 25kg machines are banned.
And because spinners are not allowed, my 6kg robot will be about 1100g underweight, so I have to design something cool to use all the weight.
Hello again.
We had Assembly ´06 -event few days ago and it was a blast. Check these videos: ftp://ftp.edome.net/media/robosota/Assembly%2006/
Voxis(450g) and XIII(6kg) are my ´bots. I had some problems with right servo in Voxis and with electroflipper in XIII, but still it was helluva fun. Especially check out these vids: Voxis versus Hvispilä and Voxis versus Rai-Ruohonleikkuri 2 - Some cool gyroaction :)
I also tested Voxis next day in the big arena, but nobody filmes it... What a shame. Voxis threw Cokecan 5-6 meters in air and ripped it in half. Very cool.
Edit; some typos
Hi Zest,
cool videos and nice fights. I see you all have some fun.

Looks really cool. Next year i might go up there and play along with my feather(s). Maybe even give a Demo with my new heavy then.

F1, F1, F1,...
Give me a tip please. The video(s) doesn't start (Microschrott MediaPlayer9, QuickTime, IrfanView,...) because there is a file needed: vids.xvid (?) )
Wich player do you use ?
Every player works... U need the correct codec...
Xvid is the "free" version of DivX...
Btw, try to read Xvid backwards and tell me the result...
ZitatBtw, try to read Xvid backwards and tell me the result...
*lol*
Thanks for the hint

I think that ffdshow-codec should do the job: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ffdshow/ffdsho…17.exe?download
