    Hey,

    I will probably be on the event "mad metal machines volume IV". Its two weeks after my "test exams" and about a month before my real exams. So if i am alowed from my parents i will be there for some fun. It will be the first fights for Hyperion en hopefully not the last.

    After some electronic ajustments the robot is mutch easyer to controll. Now I can even drive in a strate line that was inpossible a week ago. There wil also be a change in the gearboxes. Instaid of 12mm bronze bushess i will use normall bearing. I will also change the 80 teeth m0.5 gear on the wheels for some bigger gears. The motorgear wil become a 10teeth gear instaid of 12. So that i have some more pushingpower and not speed. Probably still inough.

    I also started on the armoure. I began an making the whole "outside" of the robot from clay. When that is finished i will cast plaster around it. When its dry i will take the clay out and sanding the plaster. I will drill couple of holes in the plaster and I will connect a facuempump on them. Then i will use a 3-6mm lexan, depending on if the whole idee works, and make that very hot so that i can bend it easely. I will put it over the plaster and hope while sucking facuem it will take the shape of my robot. Heating it all the time. I hope this will work. And if it does my robot will get a very nice paintjob becaus one of my friends is specialised in painting lexan body's for remotecontrol cars. And loves to paint my "armour"

    I would love to come to MMM4. But the only problem is that i have to take exams this year. They wil be in may. So i dont know if i have time to go to germany. If i will come it wont only be with this raptor but maby also with a Full Presure flipper ore a verry powerfull electric axe.

    The wheels are foamtires like they use in de 1-10 pro electric class. They have good grip even if they get dusty. But they are soft so need to replace them often. I also get nice skidmarks when puching something.

    Yesterday i finished the drive and made a testrun. It works perfectly. The only thing was that the on/off switches on de electric speedo's turn of once upon a time. So i have to do something about that. I Also thanged the rod to a grade 8.8 steel rod, 6mm dia.

    Today i got my battery's from Hopf-Shop. Perfect packs. But they are only slightly bigger then the cells I used so the battery tray needs to be cut again. I also got my third speedo for the weapon and a couple of meter silicone cable for the wirering.

    I didn't pay anything for the cutwork becaus the company who cut it for me is my "sponsor", a good friend and i work there. But usualy it would be about +-100 euro's. So if someone has intrests. Other parts are also possible but only in the thicknes, 2-3-4-5. If you are intrester for parts to be cut pleas contact me by mail or msn.

    The frame is cut out of 5mm steel sheets that the metal works company normaly uses. So probably C37. First the frame was kept together with a standard 5mm rod, probably 4.7 and around the rod 8*6 aluminium. That is going to bee 10*6 steel with a 6mm rod, 8.8 if i can find it. I will also use bigger nuts, they will be 8mm mm long so they can handel more force.

    The gearboxes will be a 1-8 single stage gearing with m0.5 gearx. 4mm width. But i can adjust the motor posision sothat i can make a 1-3.3 gearing. With the 1-8 gearing and 50mm foamtires on a homemade aluminium rim the speed will probably be about +-24km/h. But ofcourse i can always put a bigger gear on the wheel. I can have a maximum gearing of 1-9.4 I hope i can finish the drivetrain today and make a testrun. I will make a picture / video if i get it driving today. Ore otherwise an other update.

    I also hope my third speedcontroler arrives today. I'm going to controll the weapon with a speedocontroller becaus i think its safe that I can ajust the speed of the disc.

    The dimensions of the whole robot will be 300*300*200mm. So thats pritty small if you ask me.

    i'm the dutch 16 year old builder of this raptorweight. Is isn't finisht yet but it will be shortly. The whole robot without any armour will weigh about 3,5-4kg. The armour wil probably be about 4mm carbon/graphite (if i spell it right). The weapon motor for now is a johnson. But it will be a 260W motor, 38000rpm with a 1-2 gearring. The whole disc weighs 1.3kg. I bought new battery's for the robot, IB 3800 cels. They wil be powerfull inough for the motors.

    Can you please response in english from now on becaus my germen is very poor. Still working in my language skills.
