technically smallest possible laserable diameter is 0.8*material thickness.
Why is that? The heat becomes too concentrated and starts to melt the material?
Would the new shape in picture help?

Hello, sorry for interupting this thread but I have a question related to the last few posts. I am currently planning to have a laser cut weapon for my bettleweight robot for the first time. The thickness is 12mm and there are 4mm holes designed in it. Is it possible to manufacture or I will need to redesign the shape similar to Jalapeno's weapon?
From my experience with Olivia, I do not recommend a drill. Drilling requires higher torque and less speed than saw blade and also you need to apply pressure from above for the drill to catch in the material which is difficult with weak servos. But it looks cool and it is ideal for fun fights

You could try to setup exponential rates. It can help you gain more sensitivity but still maintain your full speed potential.
Borrow is no problem, i switched to Malenkis in all bots recently and have 3 of those receivers packed for an old drivetrain im gonna use in case the Malenki on the pusher breaks down.
Borrowing would be perfect! After the tournament I will desolder it and return to you as new. Can I count with you?
Someone here mentioned buing them from Amazon, unfortunately there is no Amazon in my country and it takes long time to deliver here.
Also I have kind of managed to get my ESP module running so I could control my bot through wifi if there was no other solution.
