Ello ello,
Important info for Makerdays Eindhoven end of September
Signups will be opening 1st of june, till the end of june! so basically 1 month of sign ups
how will it work?
You sign up with the form. it will be first come first serve, but with a catch.
If you bring a feather/raptor: Congrats! you made it in! (unless all the spaces are already filled, then youre first reserve)
If you ONLY Bring a beetle: You will be put on the reserve list and will fill up the slots that are left, as we have a fancy feather arena and limited spaceSo bring a feather or raptor and be sure to get in! of course if you bring one of the big bots, you can still bring along a beetle too!
Do note, we WILL have a Proof of movement! Basically a vid showing your bot is moving under its own power with all electronics inside something
We will be keeping the 2kj limit for this year, so make sure you tune down your weapon for that and submit proof in your POM
hope to see you all there in September!

In theory i could do the 22nd. but theres a chance it will clash with some other plans. got a concert the thursday and saturday i might have a different robot event but thats very far from confirmed atm. am either way looking forward to it, whenever it may be
-
We will try and arrive on friday around 3pm, probably later.
we got a cart so would they be ok if we walk in with it via the main entrance? or walk in via our door? -
Where on the map did we sit before?

Yeah pla isnt good for shock. most it can do is ants
if you do do TPU, make it 100% infill, for a bit of stiffness
but looks very very scary, cant wait to see it in the flesh

Wither boutta pull up with 20 robots this time
Not this time. tho probably 2 feathers, and 2 beetles. and 3 ants
-
alright. gonna hope i get the cad of the disc in time

About the 2 KJ feather limit. is it allowed to be limited by controller (% of throttle setting or whatever its called. or does it have to be mechanically?
-
Very cool looking bot!
i do feel 2s might not be enough for the motors to do much. i would say 3s would see it go a bit more zoom and not burn out everything. if needed we can bring our spare 3s batteries

bumping this, BBB has now changed their rules to allow switches. would it be an idea to test this at bochem or dortmund?
The Updates:
BBB 2025 rule changes! In exciting news, we wanted to do all of our rule changes for the 2025 season in advance to (hopefully!) prevent any mid-year updates. All these are active for…forum.bristolbotbuilders.com -
we will be there with our little monsters. not sure tho we can take a table with us
-
my recent builds have all been bigger then the 10x10x10
and i think 150mm by 150mm by infinite is fine. and if you really want your bot to be bigger, you have to start the match on your side.
tho seeing some things some uk people thought about, it scares me. but we could just say no to those
-
it will depend on when if i can be there. prob not if its 8th or 22nd of febuary. others we will be sure to come over (and not with too many bots)
-
There goes me thinking i have to take a fan with me, maybe now to blow the water away

In the UK they have been testing switches on beetles and no issues have arose as of right now.
Personally i dont like the idea too much of Switches as in if the hole gets blocked, youre in tough luck.
You could say the hole has to be a certain oversize to hopefully make it always turnoffable.
Also as seen in a few UK rulesets (like Sceetles, Link: https://battlescar.co.uk/Rules-and-Resources/ ) They mandate certain switches known to be good.
In case of fire i understand the concern, as you need to precision reach in the bot. and you cant reach it from far like you could with a link.
in my opinion it could be tested, with stricter rules. and only as beetles, since raptors and feathers dont have iirc a standardised switch yet.
