Dear Roboteers

We have some good news!

Dutch Robot Games will be confirmed back at Maker Days in Eindhoven 12th and 13th of September!!

Venue:

This time, Maker Days has moved to Klokgebouw Strijp-S and the pits will be inside. So the sun won’t bother you there.

Signups:

Signups will go live tonight, the 13th of July at 20:00 CET and will stay open a whole month until Thursday the 13th of August.

How will it work? Well nearly the same as last year, but here's a reminder on how it works:

You sign up via the form. It will be first come first serve, but with a catch.

If you bring a feather/raptor: Congrats! You made it in! (unless all the spaces are already filled, then you're first reserve).

If you ONLY Bring a beetle: We have limited specific Beetle slots that can be taken up. When these fill up, you will go to the reserve list and if there is space left by the end of signups, you will get a message.

So bring a feather or raptor and be sure to get in! Of course if you bring one of the big bots, you can still bring along a beetle too!

Do note, we WILL have a Proof of movement! This now includes some extra rules so people don't just submit a plate with 1 wheel that doesn't translate! POM has to be submitted 2 weeks before the event, if you fail to, you lose your spot!!

We will be keeping the 2kj limit for this year, so make sure you tune down your weapon to be under the 2kj limit and submit proof in your POM (Calculations, proof of the MOI of the weapon, a copy of the weapon+pulley CAD so we can double check your calculations). We will also be checking the RPM at the event during tech checks!

Beetles:

For beetles, we will be supplying an arena from Marien (Team FFR/Bogbots). We thank him for taking it along. This will mean beetles have a place to fight. More information about what exactly the beetles will do, will come closer to signups.

We are also happy to give out Confirmed slots to the teams who placed Top 8 in the Feathers and Top 4 in the Raptors to defend their seeds! They will have reserved slots in the competition.

We expect to run a similar format as last year, so fight night saturday and top 8/16 for the Sunday + some side events. These will be confirmed closer to the date, so stay tuned.

The arena is wood and AWS doesnt allow flamethrowers.

and we will be using the boeliebots arena, a 2x1 arena with 2 pushout zones on the corners

Anreiseempfehlungen:
Mit dem Flugzeug:
Fliege zum Flughafen Schiphol und nimm anschließend den Zug nach Groningen Centraal. Nutze Google Maps, um deine Route zu überprüfen.

Zug/Bus:
Vom Hauptbahnhof kannst du entweder etwa 19 Minuten zu Fuß gehen oder einen Bus zur Haltestelle Groningen, St. Jansbrug nehmen. Von dort sind es noch etwa 4 Minuten bis zur Location.

Parken:
Unter dem Veranstaltungsort gibt es ein Parkhaus, das jedoch recht teuer ist (maximal 24 Euro). In der Umgebung gibt es weitere, möglicherweise günstigere Parkmöglichkeiten.

Zeitplan:
09:00–10:00 Einlass
09:30–10:45 technische Abnahme
11:00 Beginn der Kämpfe

Je nach Zeitplan wird es eine Pause von 10 bis 15 Minuten geben.

Geplantes Ende:
18:00 Uhr (mit möglicher Verlängerung bis 20:00 Uhr)

If you ONLY Bring a beetle: You will be put on the reserve list and will fill up the slots that are left, as we have a fancy feather arena and limited space

So bring a feather or raptor and be sure to get in! of course if you bring one of the big bots, you can still bring along a beetle too!

Do note, we WILL have a Proof of movement! Basically a vid showing your bot is moving under its own power with all electronics inside something

Is there the beetle one too??

In theory i could do the 22nd. but theres a chance it will clash with some other plans. got a concert the thursday and saturday i might have a different robot event but thats very far from confirmed atm. am either way looking forward to it, whenever it may be

We will try and arrive on friday around 3pm, probably later.

we got a cart so would they be ok if we walk in with it via the main entrance? or walk in via our door?

Where on the map did we sit before?

Yeah pla isnt good for shock. most it can do is ants

if you do do TPU, make it 100% infill, for a bit of stiffness

but looks very very scary, cant wait to see it in the flesh

About the 2 KJ feather limit. is it allowed to be limited by controller (% of throttle setting or whatever its called. or does it have to be mechanically?

i do feel 2s might not be enough for the motors to do much. i would say 3s would see it go a bit more zoom and not burn out everything. if needed we can bring our spare 3s batteries
