A lot of work is done.
The small NTM28-36's are replaced with the way larger NTM42-38's. That seems to solve the starting torque issue.

One of the worst events for Team RCC up to date.
The only machine that didn't dissapoint, was the old Hannibalito 3.
Caliope. The totaly experimental brushless drive is twitchy, but powerfull enough.
The back-heavy design makes it difficult to drive, and the disk going at half power doesn't make it better.
The first fight went well for a bit, untill one bolt came out of the wheel axle, and the wheel bounced around. After that fight, we loctited the bolts , and it looked ok for the rest.
Second fight. Put in the arena, 1 drive wouldn't go. Out of the arena, check. 1 lose connection. Damn. A 3 minute fix... unfortunatly, a forfaited fight.
Third fight went very well, untill the weaponbelt snapped. Also, when we tried to drive to the entry gate, something failed. We learned the motorcan was spinning around the axles of the NTM's. A bit that needs improvement.
Valkiri2 went strong in the arena, but got nibbled to lameness by the heavy duty drumspinner Daredevel. One wheel lost the tyre, and both drives locked up. Reason for lock up, the motors themselfs bend. The front end of the motorcan can't cope with the forces involved. It took us most of the time between the fights to get that repaired.
On sunday we had 1 bit of fun. First we smashed an old radio, and then we had a fun fight balls out against ODF, a heavy armored twackbot.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLM9hzPlEco
That didn't take long. ODF's armor/frame took the full hit, with as result 1 bit of 8*15mm steel is deeply gauged, later check up gave us bolts beheaded and a warped chassis/frame.
Unfortunatly, the disk of Valkiri seized up. The 20mm diameter 80mm long silversteel axle got bend.
Hannibalito 3.
First fight went well, untill the very large and flat scoop of the very well controlled Schnauzer dit the job and we got pitted.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-nayK3Cd3E
Second fight It was looking well, the HDPE armor and flipperarm taking the licks from the drumspinner Daredevil, as if it was protected by a forcefield. Untill that ran out. The CO2 bottle disconnected, no more flipper. The tiny hardox scoop got a good whack and bend. A few good hits later and Hannibalito was nose up.
Third fight. At least that went wel, unfortunatly, it was to much for the scoop, and the hardox bit came off.
Nebelwerfer2, our raptor.
First fight. Looked not to bad, until a lucky hit from an axe on the steel gause over the weaponmotor damaged and smoked that motor. One drive started to fail. Reason, the left/right thread combination of the batterydrill axle came lose???
Second fight, again that wheel.... But the weapon kept on going. Obliging opponents kept trowing themselfs in the disk
Third fight, all stayed together. But the light ali frame is warping....
In short.
Hannibalito 3, most damage is already repaired and this veteran is already awaiting the next battles. The rest is cosmetic.
Caliope shows a lot of promise but needs maturing. Maybe a gyro to help the steering. Spare belts will be added to the inventory and check list.
Valkiri2 needs better protected wheels and a bit of shock mounting.
The bend axle is already replaced with a new one, and that will be added to the spare parts list as well.
Nebelwerfer2. The guts look fine, but the frame/armor needs re-inforcement.
Caliope is rather hard to control, due the experimental nature of the drive.
We'll try a few tricks before we'll change the basics.
And yes, Caliope's weapon didn't go full pelt in this event, also because the difficulties controling the machine. (we also dropped the battery from 6S to 5S)
In Valkiri2 the same motor runs on 4S ,and there we crank it up to the max.

MMM 18.
Disasters with a silver lining. I can't put it better.
Caliope was the biggest disappointment. Test here, check up, put in the car. Put in the arena, link up, and nothing.... Check wiring, check batteries, looks ok. Combined with the next to useless drive we deceided to leave it be and concentrate on the other machines.
Valkiri 2. The right hand drive stays a problem. Even a full replacement in the field didn't solve the issues. But when it got a hit in, the opponents felt it, and the arena too. The weapon is a keeper (but with a thicker disk, this one is going banana again). The drives need some improvements, and the ali has to go. Valkiri 2.2, here we come.

Hannibalito 3. After 7 years of trusty service, it died in the field of battle. Severely wounded in a fight with the brandnew Dutch eggbeater Cookiemonster, and hastely patched up, it met Rango. That did prove to much. One Speed 900 resembles a babyrattling toy now.
The electronics died. Why , we don't know yet.
The raptors Perun and Nebelwerfer did fine.
Perun, a "Stingeresk" fun machine, did fine. No damage suffered, even if we drove over drums with the big Truggy wheels. It just needs some tweaking to be a solid machine. Not ment to win, but to keep on going.
Nebelwerfer 2.1
Wow. Dependable, brushless drive, and a horizontal spinner that hurts the opponents. A keeper, even if it looks like a black box with an evil spinner attached
See Nebelwerfers success on my bot:

On sunday he punshed the hell out of my bot.
Did someone film the fight?
Babs started filming halfway trough the fight unfortunatly.
The sad video is now online in full lenght:
